Before waxing, tell your technician if you're using retinoids or Accutane, which can turn hair removal into a scarring experience. Since retinoids make the epidermis more delicate, doctors often tell patients to avoid them for several days pre- and postwax. Accutane is more extreme, so be sure to talk to your dermatologist before waxing.
