Whether
you know it or not, your brain is constantly playing tapes which
determine how you react to certain situations. For example, if
you feel stressed during times when your competency is being
tested, your brain is playing tapes that say, 'I am incompetent.
I am not capable.' In times like these, take 2 minutes out to
identify which tape is playing in your head, replace its message
with an affirmation, and then silently repeat it. I suggest
creating your own positive statements, but you can start off by
using 'Whatever happens, I can handle it' or 'I enjoy
challenging situations.'...
