A Soothing Place

"One of my
favorite stress-relieving tips is to create a peaceful retreat at work, at
home, wherever you're likely to experience stress. Maybe you bring in a
flower, a candle, a special photo. It's as if you're creating an altar and
saying, 'This is going to be my space to be quiet.' Focus on being
tranquil there. Listen to a quiet CD, chant, or repeat a mantra or
affirmation—anything that helps you reconnect to the feeling that 'I am
calm, I am serene, I am connected, and I am powerful.'"
