Lisa Starnes
Lisa (Adams) Starnes began her career in Holistic Health as a chiropractic assistant performing therapies, diagnostic procedures and teaching patients to perform rehabilitative exercises for two and a half years. She attended Applied Kinesiology Studies in Herndon, VA for her massage education, and became Nationally Certified as a Massage Therapist after graduating in May, 1995. She went on to continue her studies by becoming a Reiki Master in 1997 and then completed a course of study at the Washington Institute for Natural Health in January, 1998, obtaining certification as a Holistic Health Practitioner.
Lisa owned a highly successful private practice in Northern Virginia, specializing in treating clients with chronic problems, injuries and disorders. She became disenchanted with the “rat race” of the Washington metropolitan area selling her practice to relocate to Charlottesville where she taught at the Virginia School of Massage. Lisa married in October, 2000, where she took advantage of her husband’s offer to quit working to go back to school full time. She received her Bachelor’s in Religion and Women’s Studies in 2004. She recently decided to re-enter the world of Massage Therapy, taking clients in the Harrisonburg area and assistant teaching at the Shenandoah Valley School of Therapeutic Massage.
Lisa lives with
her wonderful husband, Mark, and their two cats in a cedar log cabin in the
National Forest.
